    Default Remflex Gaskets

    Head to plate: rf 6004
    Plate to header: rf 6026
    3" collector: 8002
    2.5" collector: 8001

Well, finally got my package from Remflex today. Inside were 3 models of gaskets they already make, and one custom gasket model. They already had gaskets available for our stock exhaust flange pattern (great for guys with PPHs, Gibson, JBAs, stock manifolds, etc.), and also the proper size for the Spintech Header Collectors and Test Pipe/Cat Flanges (for those that ordered their exhaust kits with flanged cats/test pipes). The custom gasket I mentioned above is the Spintech Header flange that mates to the Port Plates (Thanks to Sean for sending me his bloodied Cometic for the template...LOL!). So, with the full complement of exhaust gaskets for our setups at Remflex now, nobody should have any excuses for blowing out gaskets anymore...including me...HA! I'll be installing mine probably later this week or weekend, when I tear down and freshen up the top end of the motor. I'll report back on fit/finish and performance over time. Now, on to the pics!

    Ok, for you lazy-asses....LOL!

    Stock Exhaust pattern - $42.99
    3" Collector - $16.99
    2.5" Collector - $15.99

Not sure what their price on the Spintech flange will be, I paid $50 for 3 sets to cover their tooling costs. I'd imagine they'd probably be cheaper now, probably around the same price as the stock flange gasket.

Ok, just thought I'd give an update to these gaskets. I've had them on for a couple weeks now, and even though I haven't driven the truck a whole lot...they're still sealed, no leaks whatsoever. And, this is with partially-chooched Port plates. The reason for this...well, let's just say that just because they can compress to 50% thickness, doesn't mean you have to crank 'em down that far. I'll just say that if I ever have to remove the heads again or swap heads completely, I'll need to get new port plates due to me not paying attention fully. I've got one plate that's a little bent/warped, and one where the bolt started pulling through it (the bolt that bolts the plate to the head). But, the gaskets are still sealed...so I'm not complaining!!! Just be careful when using these gaskets between the port plates and head...between the port plates and header flange....no worries, just take the usual precautions when bolting the headers to the plates. All in all, I'm VERY happy, and highly recommend these gaskets whether you're running Spintechs, PPHs, or whatever...hell, even stock manifolds if you're still using 'em...LOL! One thing I noticed though, was that the 2.5" collector gaskets are still a smidge small in bolt pattern on the Cat/Test Pipe flanges, so I may send them the test pipe next time or make my own template from it and send them that. The 3" gaskets fit beautifully to the header collector though with ZERO issues.

Don't forget about the RF 6004 - Factory exhuaust flange...for those that might want to use a gasket between the heads and Port Plates.

I also purchased remflex gaskets for my Mopar PPH headers/y pipe. I even used their 3 inch, and 3.5 inch exhaust flange gaskets. I have put about 190 miles on my truck since. No issues at all, just dont over tighten them, so all and all I am highly pleased with this product. Dan

Another nice thing I learned a couple months ago about these gaskets. Is if the bolts back out on the collector and you tighten them a tick more no leak. I remember years ago if I had a slight leak on the collectors on a 71 Chevelle it was time to buy new gaskets. So them being 50% crushable is a big help.

How tight are you guys tightening these to? I've always just cranked them pretty good and never had an issue.

I know this is a 2 year old thread but I have spintech headers on my R/T just replaced the flange gaskets and didn't leak for awhile but now my passenger side plate to header is leaking was wondering is it wise to replace the head to plate along with header to plate? or does just the plate to header leak mostly? ive tighten the 2 bolts at back of headers several times and leak stopped for about a day then started leaking again
    I live my life 10 sec's at a time
